COSMOS2020, the network of Space NCPs, organizes a workshop that will address the use of Earth Observation (EO) data as applied to maritime domains, focusing on the specific issues of the Atlantic Ocean.
The state of the art and existing applications will be presented with the objective of informing participants and showcasing different national strengths.

The objectives of this workshop are to bring closer European public organizations, academia and industry to discuss the state of the art, the future trends and opportunities in the maritime context and especially for the Atlantic Ocean,bearing in mind its specificities to overcome the hurdles, protect human live sat sea and sustain the exploration of the existing resources.

Background:
European maritime countries face similar threats, challenges and extreme situations on Maritime domains. EO applications and in-situ technologies can contribute to forecast, predict and mitigate the effects, scaling-down from synoptic scale observations to targeted locations.

This is the 1st of a series of three workshops. The next workshop will focus on the Mediterranean Sea and it will be followed by a workshop focusing on the issues of the North and Baltic Seas.

The workshop is free of charge but registration is mandatory.
